2015 Middle River Fireworks Extravaganza

This year’s Middle River Fireworks Extravaganza will be held on Saturday, July 4th! Mark your calendars, send out the invites and start saving your parking spots- because it’s going to be a real EXTRAVAGANZA of a show this year. Last year was our most successful year, EVER!!!!

We were able to contribute $10,000 back to help wounded United States Veterans (through Project No Person Left Behind) Smaller donations were made to the MedStar Franklin Square NICU fund and also to the Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Department. This year, we  want to celebrate that achievement by outing on a BIGGER, BETTER and EVEN LONGER fireworks display! Along with that, Benjer Inc., our title sponsor, will be chartering a bus for the day of the fireworks and sending it to Walter Reed Army Medical Center to bring a group of recovering veterans and their families to EYC to enjoy the fireworks and a day of relaxing and celebrating America!

Our goal this year is to be able to present the veterans with an even larger check, and to do that we need your help! We need your financial support to raise as much money as possible to not only make a great fireworks show, but to help as many veterans as possible!

Some Important things to note:

  • The event will remain closed to the public
  • Turkey Point Park will still be closed
  • Signs will still be posted all over the place advertising that there are no public viewing places and to go home (just as last year)
  • Police will be present in the community
  • EYC will have private security on site that day
  • RBIA Members are able to purchase tickets for the fireworks show. (Just like last year)
  • RBIA will continue in its relationship with helping to fundraise for the Middle River Fireworks.

With that said, it’s time for me to start pounding the pavement and asking for checks to help make the fireworks possible this year. We need to place a deposit on the fireworks for this year, and also be able to have money to secure a barge and pay for any expenses and deposits needed to get things reserved for the big day! Our expenses are more this year, since it’s on the actual fourth of July and because we are “upping the ante” and we are looking at a price tag somewhere in the ballpark of $35,000 -$37,000. Please make a contribution to help fund the BEST FIREWORKS DISPLAY IN BALTIMORE, and continue a community tradition into it’s 19th year!

Checks should be made payable to: Middle River Fireworks

They can be mailed to: 2330 Seneca Road – Essex, MD 21221

Or, if it’s easier, you can drop them off to Darlene Baugher at 615 Rockaway Beach Avenue.
